Pamela Anderson

Pamela Denise Anderson was born on July 1, 1967 and is a Canadian-American television actress, glamour model, producer, TV personality and author. She was formerly known as Pamela Anderson Lee. Anderson is popularly known for modeling and television acting in the '90s and most notably for her large breasts. She has said that she has a pole in her house, and does pole dancing like strippers do.

Pamela Anderson was born near Ladysmith, British Columbia, Canada, of partially Finnish ancestry. As the first baby born on Canada's Centennial Day, the newborn Anderson won fame as the nation's Centennial Baby. Her parents Barry Anderson and Carol Anderson moved to the town of Comox after her birth, when she was still a baby. Since then Pamela has appeared 11 times on the cover of Playboy magazine (1989-2004), the most of anyone in the magazine's history. She guest starred on the cartoon Futurama twice, once as herself and another doing a one line cameo. Lycos Search Engine named Pamela Anderson the most searched person on the internet during the 1990's. Besides that she is on over 22,000,000 websites internationallly, by 2006.

Early life

Pamela Anderson graduated from Highland Secondary School in 1985. In her high school yearbook, Anderson wrote that she wanted to be a California beach bum. She moved to the city of Vancouver in 1988, where she worked as a fitness instructor. During the summer of 1989, Pamela Anderson and her friends went to a Canadian football game. At some point during the game, she was shown on the stadium screen. The crowd at the game cheered for the then 21 years old Pamela Anderson and she was taken to the field to get an ovation from the crowd. Pamela wore a Labatt's t-shirt and the beer company offered her a modeling contract which she agreed. Soon after that Pamela Anderson was on posters in every bar in Canada.

Anderson decided to model for Playboy magazine in late 1989 and she appeared on the October 1989 cover, credited as Pamela Anderson Ilicic. She decided to move to Los Angeles to continue her modeling career.

Acting and modeling career

After her move to Los Angeles, Pamela Anderson dyed her hair blonde and got breast implants to enhance her look. She landed a minor role on the United States hit television sitcom Home Improvement in 1991. Gaining the attention of viewers, she got the role of C.J. Parker on Baywatch in 1992. Later, she quit Home Improvement.

Pamela Anderson appeared in the feature film Barb Wire as the character Barbara Rose Kopetski in 1996. Barbara Rose Kopetski was mistakenly thought by some to have been her real name. Pamela suffered a miscarriage during the filming of Barb Wire. The movie itself failed to achieve any commercial success.

Anderson guest-hosted Saturday Night Live in 1997 where she was doing a striptease during the beginning of the show after she stated You know, if you're nervous on stage, you actually should BE naked! Her unmentionables were covered by a small flesh-colored bra and a crotch patch that was also flesh colored. The segment became fodder for late-night comedians for the following weeks. She also appeared on one of two covers for the September issue of Playboy in this year. The other cover had Jenny McCarthy.

In September 2000, Pamela Anderson starred in her produced series V.I.P., which was very poorly received and a critical bomb. But with enough people tuning in to just see Pamela Anderson, the show lasted an impressive four seasons, but was cancelled in 2002.

In May 2004, Pamela Anderson appeared naked on the cover of Playboy magazine. It was the first time Anderson appeared naked on any magazine cover. Later, Pamela posed naked for Stuff magazine and GQ magazines.

In April 2005, Anderson starred in a new FOX sitcom Stacked as the party girl Skyler Dayton, who goes to work at a bookstore. Stacked was cancelled on May 18th, 2006, but the show ran until the end of the 2nd season. She produced a statement saying I am the greatest slut ... in late 2005, obviously speaking her openness about sex and her opinions in free sex. Comedy Central created the Roast of Pamela Anderson during summer 2005 to honor the sex symbol for the past decade. In December 2005, NBC cut off a video of Anderson pole dancing topless on Elton John's The Red Piano. NBC stated that the footage was inappropriate for primetime. The video was shown on huge screens during the event, while John was playing a song. Pamela Anderson was topless, but stars were painted on her breasts.

In March 2006, it was announced that Pamela Anderson would receive a star on Canada's Walk of Fame thanks to her many years as a model and actress. Pamela is only the second model to receive a star. In April, she hosted Canada's Juno Awards and became the first non-singer and model to host the awards.
